Summer Math Prep 2023

BTR Tutoring is offering a 4-week summer math program for students who are starting their first year of middle school! This program is for students entering 6th grade in the 2023-2024 school year. They will work to master 5th-grade math skills and begin learning 6th-grade concepts. Students will not only review but get ahead of their math courses for the upcoming year!

Why choose BTR's summer program?

I have over 7 years of experience in education and have used that experience to create BTR's summer program.

Over the years, I have seen students struggle at the beginning of the school year due to the summer slump. When students lose knowledge of math concepts during their months off, their math scores are adversely affected.

​

Students who put effort into mastering their math skills before beginning middle school see vastly different results. Research has shown that students who participate in summer math programs achieve higher math class grades than students who do not participate. 

​

Putting your student in summer math is already a good choice.  Putting your student in BTR's math program is an even better choice. I know what deficiencies students have and how to close those gaps. Students will have the opportunity to excel in math with BTR's program.

BTR Tutoring will cover the following 5th grade topics:

  • Numerical expressions

  • Place value

  • Operations w/multi-digit numbers

  • Fractions

  • Measurements

  • Data

  • Volume

  • Shapes

  • Coordinate Plane

Students will also have the opportunity to learn the following 6th grade topics to get ahead:

  • Ratios

  • Fractions​

    • Division​

  • Decimals

    • Addition​

    • Subtraction

    • Multiplication

    • Division

  • Algebraic expressions​

  • ....and more!

BTR Tutoring provides comprehensive and engaging math instruction to ensure the best results. Courses will include group sessions of up to 5 students per session. The structure of this program will include 3+ hours of instruction weekly and practice online. â€‹â€‹â€‹

3+ hours of instruction

Students will receive 1-hour long math sessions three days per week.

Assessments

Students will receive both a pre-assessment and post assessment to gauge preparedness in math for the upcoming school year.

Small group learning

Students will have their sessions with a maximum amount of 5 students. They will also be given the opportunity to have one-on-one sessions.

Personalized learning

Students will have the opportunity to focus on topics they need to improve on and will be given instruction according to their learning styles.
